Divide the batter equally among the prepared muffin cups, they should be full to the top. Sprinkle the reserved walnut pieces on top.

Bake the muffins at 425 degrees Fahrenheit for five minutes. Then, lower the temperature to 350 degrees F and bake for an additional 10 to 12 minutes.
